Black Cat With Flowers - Dot painting

Black Cat With Flowers dot painting, a dark cat in a light frame

A cat looks out from behind a border of blossom. This is the one design where the animal is meant to be the darkest part of the canvas, so you can dot the cat heavily and keep the flowers airy.

Screens off, markers out, and a cat peeking from blossoms. It is easy to start and tough to put down, and the table stays spotless.

What is in the dot painting kit

Everything you need comes in one box:

• Printed canvas: sturdy, easy to read.
• Guide: short, practical notes.
• Double-tip markers:
  • 1.0 mm tip: for the cat and the larger petals.
  • 0.5 mm tip: for the whiskers, the eyes and the stems.

A steady hour at day's end

Filling the cat's dark coat is repetitive in the way that helps rather than bores. The mind wanders, the hand keeps going, and the cat grows darker.

Flowers for a pal, the cat for you, and an evening of comparing progress as you both work side by side. A dot art painting kit with everything included.

Finding the cat in the dark

The trap is dotting the cat so solidly that it turns into a silhouette. A thin open line along the back and around the eyes keeps the animal readable.

Heavy dots on the cat and airy ones on the blossoms give the piece real presence. Frame it and the contrast does the talking.
