Cat Watching Birds - Dot painting

Cat Watching Birds dot painting from a windowsill

A cat fixed on birds it has no chance of reaching, every muscle still. The tension in the pose is the point, and you build it with nothing but dots.

Markers, circles and a patient cat. Dot painting lets you build tension without a single drop of paint.

What is in the dot painting kit

Everything you need comes in one box:

• Printed canvas: sturdy, keeping cat and birds clearly apart.
• Guide: a handy one-page guide.
• Double-tip markers:
  • 1.0 mm tip: for the coat and window frame.
  • 0.5 mm tip: for the birds and the fine hairs of the face.

An hour away from the screen

It takes enough focus to leave the phone alone, yet little enough that the evening still feels like rest.

Stay still like the cat for an hour, eyes on the canvas and phone out of sight. A friend can take the birds. A dot art painting kit with everything included.

Near and far on one canvas

The cat is close and the birds are out there, so give the birds a lighter touch. That one difference in density puts a pane of glass between them.

Each dot adds to the stillness, and the cat looks ready to pounce. A great conversation piece for any room.
