Bull Skull - Dot painting

Bull Skull dot painting with horns and hard edges

A bull skull seen straight on, with horns sweeping wide across the canvas. Bone is smooth where it catches the light and deeply shadowed in the sockets, which makes this one of the most rewarding subjects to build from dots.

Talent is not tested here. Dot painting hands over one marker plus printed circles, and the horns appear without paint or mess.

What is in the dot painting kit

Everything you need comes in one box:

• Printed canvas: sturdy, with the bone structure clearly printed.
• Guide: practical notes only.
• Double-tip markers:
  • 1.0 mm tip: for the horns and the broad planes of the skull.
  • 0.5 mm tip: for the sockets, the cracks and the teeth.

Wall art with some weight

Not every room wants flowers. A skull suits a study or a hallway, and made by hand it carries more presence than a print of the same thing.

Block out an unhurried evening and let the horns grow dot by dot. Younger family members can take the broad planes while you take on the sockets. A dot art painting kit with everything included.

Hollows made from density

The eye sockets only read as deep if the dots around them pack tightly and then stop. That one contrast does more for the picture than all the surface detail combined.

Bone is a perfect subject: smooth where light hits it and deeply shadowed in the sockets. Add more canvases over the years and a collection builds.
