Hot Air Balloons - Panorama Dot painting

Hot Air Balloons panorama dot painting, six balloons over the hills

Six patterned balloons drift over striped fields, a winding river and a hilltop village with a tower. The wide format gives them a long stretch of sky to float through.

The design has large, simple shapes that you fill circle by circle with the markers. No paint and no mixing, which makes it an easy one to begin with.

What is in the dot painting kit

Everything you need comes in one box:

• Printed canvas: open and clear, with firm outlines around every shape.
• Guide: one page and you are ready to go.
• Double-tip markers:
  • 1.0 mm tip: for the balloon stripes, the clouds and the field strips.
  • 0.5 mm tip: for the baskets, the village roofs and the cypress trees.

A friendly start for beginners

The clear shapes make this a good choice for a first panorama. It also works well as a project to do with older children.

Each balloon is a small project of its own, so progress is easy to see. Share the canvas and let everyone pick a balloon.

One stripe at a time

Fill the balloon stripes one by one from top to bottom, so the patterns stay even. Do the fields in long rows that follow the curve of the hills.

On the wall it has the look of a travel poster, cheerful and tidy. The big balloon in the middle anchors the scene while the others lead the eye sideways.
